On the front panel you will find one-touch buttons for recipes such as cappuccino, caffelatte, latte macchiato, and espresso. Using the milk menu button, you can access additional recipes such as the popular flat white. For the drip coffee lovers, there’s even a dedicated long coffee button that prepares a large coffee at lower pressure with twice as much ground coffee! Most recipes allow you to store a customized quantity for coffee and milk (where applicable). A two-line digital display clearly communicates machine status and gives reminders for emptying the bin, refilling water, and cleaning. Speaking of cleaning, the milk carafe features a self-cleaning cycle that does most of the work for you. Just turn the carafe dial to “clean” and a short round of steam clears any leftover milk from inside of the pipe so you can simply wipe off the outside and return the carafe to the fridge.

With a stainless steel burr grinder boasting 13 settings, the Eletta is capable of pulling incredible shots with nearly any kind of beans (although as with all super-automatics, it’s recommended to avoid very oily beans for maintenance reasons). One thing we love about DeLonghi automatics is the very low grounds retention of their grinders. Where similar grinders in competitor’s machines will hold 1-2 shots worth of grounds in the grinding chamber and chute, with the DeLonghi you’re getting truly fresh grounds with every shot. A stainless steel-lined aluminum thermoblock allows the Eletta to warm up completely in just a minute, which is fast enough for even the most impatient caffeine-addicts. The top of the machine features storage surface where you can store a couple cups to keep them ready for use.
